I guess the new trend in society today is to isolate. I get it.
A few weeks ago I had a very long day of running errands that took me most of the day and all the way to Portland and back. While I was out and about, I saw two different people wearing shirts that were amusing, but anti-social.
The first one said “You Read My Shirt. That’s enough social interaction for one day.”
I said to the guy, “Awesome shirt!” He looked at me with a yeah-but-you-obvioiusly-didn’t-get-the-effing-message look and said nothing. I took the hint.
Later I saw a very grumpy-faced woman in the grocery store wearing a shirt with a similar message that I don’t recall right now. I definitely didn’t say anything to her.
Then, about a week later, my sister sent me a text with this picture, saying that she saw this and thought it was pretty funny:
Is this an accurate snapshot of today’s zeitgeist? Should we be worried?
