Chino Valley, Arizona, April 2025

As with all my Arizona trips, or at least the ones up to now, my trip started with 4 days in Apache Junction, then I took a shuttle to Prescott, where my good friend, Nelda, picked me up for a visit with her in Chino Valley. This was a wonderful visit, as they always are.

These first photos are of Granite Mountain, which I swear I must hike someday.

In this next photo, taken in the valley east of Chino Valley, you can just barely see the snow-capped San Francisco peaks, about 85 miles away in north central Arizona.

Here’s a little bit of a close-up on that:

Nelda and her neighbors keep an eye on the small herd of cows that graze in their hills.

On a drive toward Prescott, we can see the back side of Thumb Butte.
